Nathalie Emmanuel was born on Southend-on-Sea within Essex, England to parents from Saint Lucian, English and Dominican descent. Nathalie says that she was inspired to be an actress in the beginning due to her mother. In the age of 10 she portrayed Young Nala in The Lion King, a West End production of The Lion King.
